My Homelab Journey Begins
Welcome to Drifting Cloud — my space to document the lessons, wins, and occasional frustrations of setting up and maintaining my own homelab while diving deeper into the world of cloud computing.
It started with a simple goal: to better understand how the tools I use every day actually work under the hood. What began as a few old desktops running Linux soon became a sandbox for learning about virtualization, containers, networking, and cloud-native architectures.
Over time, this homelab evolved into a full-blown learning environment — complete with virtual machines, automation scripts, and experiments with technologies like Podman, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code. Each project taught me something new about the systems that power modern computing.
Through this blog, I’ll share tutorials, configuration notes, and insights from real-world experience. My goal isn’t just to show what I’ve built, but to explain the “why” behind each decision — helping others build their own systems and confidence along the way.
Whether you’re new to homelabs or already running your own, I hope you find something here that sparks curiosity and helps you grow.
